All appointments can be booked by the reception team over the telephone between 08:30 and 18:00 but in addition appointments with the GPs can be booked, checked or cancelled at any time using our automated system and your telephone keypad.
We also operate an online booking system via the link at the top of this page for which you will need to be allocated login details. If you persistently use this access to book appointments and then fail to attend the practice reserves the right to remove this service from you. Any appointment showing on the online system can be booked, please do not worry if it is marked as an embargo or a patient use only slot, these are internal flags that we can't remove when they appear on systmonline.
There is now an app for systmonline which you can download and use on your ipod, ipad or iphone.
The GPs will be away from the practice at different times, these absences can be for holiday, external training courses or other commitments.
In addition to these absences each GP does one day a week as the duty doctor so will not be available for routine appointments on that day.
Please bear this in mind when you are booking and consider an alternative doctor if your regular GP is away.
On a Saturday morning we offer prebooked routine appointments with a GP and/or nurse. If you need emergency treatment please contact the OOH doctor on 111.
The telephones are at their busiest between 08.30 & 09.30 and 12.30 & 13.30. If your call is not urgent please try to avoid these times.
If you are unable to attend your appointment please contact the medical centre to cancel it so that we can offer it to another patient - significant numbers of appointments are wasted each month when patients fail to cancel.
You are registered with the practice and not an individual GP. You can, however, choose which GP you want to see when you make an appointment, subject to availability. The exception to this is our Saturday morning appointments which are with an unnamed doctor.
We have a team of receptionists who are fully trained and do a difficult job well. Sometimes they may need to ask one or two questions to judge the urgency of your request but the information you give will always be treated in confidence as they are bound by the same code of conduct as the doctors.
